1st Training Session in Wales on 3rd of November 2011

In the beginning of November a serie of SURF training sessions started in Cardiff/Wales

The Cardiff event, one of ten training events in Europe, bought together key stakeholders that write EU funding programmes in Wales, as well as those from voluntary sectors. It included presentations and discussions on the following topics:
- EU funding for Nature and Biodiversity,
- The Welsh Environment – Understanding the Connections with the Economy,
- Regional differences across Europe, and
- SWOT analysis of EU programmes in Wales  based on experience
It was designed to raise awareness and know-how amongst stakeholders, influence future EU funds and increase the ‘fundability’ of biodiversity and nature conservation.

The results will be shared with the External Funding community in the regions and Head Office. The session was so successful that a follow up event is being organised for 8th of December. Watch out for further information.
